Food Processing and Packaging Factory Maintenance
MISSION:
The mission of the Food Processing and Packaging Factory Maintenance individual is to make sure our processing and packaging lines run smoothly and continuously with minimal down time. This will be accomplished through hands-on knowledge of how to run each of the lines and the consequent ability to troubleshoot any issues that arise during the shift operationally or mechanically. Production lines include cooking, shredding, slicing, and cutting lines as well as vacuum packing and MAP horizontal and vertical form filling machines and all related equipment. When there is no need to support the lines, PM and other maintenance work will be done for both equipment and the building.
OUTCOMES:
The maintenance individual must know how to run each of the pieces of equipment and can serve as a backup in emergencies if a machine operator is not present.
With their support, we will be able to add new machine operators that can run the packaging, shredding, and slicing lines.
Serve as backup for existing maintenance people by becoming familiar and gaining ability to handle all the other equipment and systems in the building.
COMPETANCIES:
Electric competencies with 480V/3 Phase and lower
Pneumatic and Hydraulic experience
Controls and PLC’s
Motors, gears, bearings etc.
Ability to read electrical drawings
JOB REQUIREMENTS
Minimum 5 years of Industrial Maintenance, preferably in a food manufacturing factory.
Maintain equipment in a state of readiness and safe operating condition.
Able to use hand tools, power tools, hoists, and measuring/testing equipment properly and safely.
Able to follow direction and have the ability to interpret manuals and schematic drawings to facilitate repairs and aid in troubleshooting equipment.
Perform preventive maintenance work on mechanical and electrical components as well as plumbing and HVAC general repairs.
Able to respond to both, work orders and emergency requests in a reasonable amount of time.
Ability to work with minimal supervision.
Able to physically lift or carry 100lbs, be able to climb ladders, use a scissor lift, and operate a forklift.
Able to stand or squat or maintain awkward positions for extended periods of time.
Able to support other maintenance technicians to improve asset care of which includes cleaning, lubrication, and predictive analysis of all equipment.
Maintain work area and surrounding areas free of debris and safe for others.
Able to fill out proper documentation of all work being performed.
Able to follow OSHA, GMP, and SQF guidelines.
Able to communicate and have good rapport with upper management and all departments, including production, Quality Control, and other maintenance people.
Spanish communication skills is not required, but helpful.
